With our online, evidence-based tutoring program, you can offer services to help children with dyslexia learn how to read and comprehend what they've read. Our tutors are Certified Academic Language Therapists/Practitioners (CALT/P) or currently training with us under the direct supervision of a CALT/P Qualified Instructor. We hold one-hour tutoring sessions three times per week and can coordinate with after-school programs. If you're a CALT or CALP, become a DRC tutor.

CALP - Certification Coursework (Online)
I am astonished after completing just the beginning summer coursework for the dyslexia practitioner certification! I applied in the interest of gaining a deeper understanding of dyslexia for my job position, which in turn helped me for my family as well! I have already gained a great deal of confidence in knowing what dyslexia is, the manifestations of dyslexia, the necessary components for evidence-based remediation instruction and most importantly, the significance of early identification. I am extremely thankful for this opportunity and eagerly await what's to come!

The Dyslexia Resource Center is an amazing place for people who want to further their knowledge of dyslexia and how to help students with dyslexia. The instructors and instructors-in-training are so knowledgeable and present the information in ways that are easy to understand. It is truly what you wish you had learned in college. After two years in the face-to-face cohort, I feel confident in my abilities to identify and help students who are dyslexic. The classwork and contact hours spent with students are well worth every minute. If you want to become a Certified Academic Language Practitioner or Therapist, the DRC in Baton Rouge is a wonderful place, as they are passionate about helping struggling students with dyslexia.
