SCREEN FOR DYSLEXIA IN KINDERGARTEN AND FIRST GRADE
Data published in the Journal of Pediatrics confirms that the Achievement Gap in Reading is present in dyslexic children in the First Grade.

All kindergarten and first graders should be screened with the Shaywitz Dyslexia Screener so this gap can be corrected. The Dyslexia Resource Center (DRC) works with single schools and/or school districts to educate teachers and complete the screening.

The DRC then collects the data and follows up with the school and the parents to advise on next steps for the children that screen as "possibly having dyslexia".

Please contact us for more information as the DRC is here to help schools and school systems identify these bright children and give them the evidence based instruction they need.
